Rectavit is an original family-run company, founded in 1968. Prior to concentrating on glue solutions for the construction, wood and decoration sector, it was entirely focused on products for the shoe industry. Through its close collaboration with a number of international glue products, Rectavit also became the exclusive distributer on the Belgian market of well-known brands such as Loctite, Promat and Shell. Moreover, its range currently comprises a varied range of DIY products. At the end of 2004 Rectavit was taken over by its multinational rival Soudal, from Turnhout, which mainly specialises in joint fillers and polyurethane foams.
