Nature-positive upgrade for Quarry Life Award
We examined the communication and updated the website for the sixth edition of the Quarry Life Award, a Heidelberg Materials initiative to promote biodiversity at its disused quarries worldwide.
Visual makeover
The Quarry Life Award is an international platform for proposals for scientific or educational projects at one of the many disused Heidelberg Materials quarries. It’s one of the ways the cement producer contributes to a nature-positive future. We did our bit by creating four new concept visuals featuring an updated version of the logo in a natural setting.
Animated video
We developed a set of promotional tools using the new visual language to kindle interest worldwide and solicit project proposals. As well as a brochure, a flyer and posters we also produced a short-form video, combining the new concept visuals with a clear call to action.
Website makeover
We incorporated the video and the visuals into the website. As well as a style update in accordance with the Heidelberg Materials brand guidelines, we also gave it a complete technical upgrade. The integrated user flow makes it easier for users to perform tasks (such as registration) in the same environment. The flexible CMS gives administrators more freedom to add content. And a new structured design and a select number of smart adaptations to the navigation (such as language selection based on country) boost the user experience (UX) significantly. See the next issue to find out whether that has resulted in more submissions.
